This is a shrub-like perennial that can get woody at the base, it should come back every year if planted South of its native habitat.

A deciduous perennial grass. It forms tufts that reach 3′ tall and 18″s wide. It has rough stems with long, narrow, bronze leaf blades. Bears pink to purplish pink plumes.
The foliage is linear in shape and is fuzzy in texture, the flowers are lavender with white in color and they are fuzzy.
The plants are erect, 12-24 inches tall and have few branches. The leaves are 2-5 inches long, narrow at the base and very short. Small blue-purple flowers all summer.
Early Sunrise produces semi-double, deep yellow flowers that flush to orange-yellow near the center. They grow to a height of 18 inches tall.
